来日するDaniel Suidani閣下とCelsus Talifilu氏
2017年、私が安倍総理の「インド太平洋戦略」「セキュリティダイヤモンド構想」に海洋安全保障と太平洋島嶼国をつなげる機会を頂いた事をきっかけに、有志によるインド太平洋研究会を立ち上げ、太平洋島嶼国の安全保障を中心に情報を収集、発信してきました。
この度、ソロモン諸島、マライタ州前知事ダニエル・スイダニ閣下と、政策アドバイザーのセルサス・タリフィル氏を日本にお迎えする事になりました。
ソロモン諸島は2019年9月、突然独立以来関係を維持してきた台湾から中国に外交関係を変更。これに国内の4分の１の人口を抱えるマライタ州スイダニ氏が反対を唱えてきました。
ガダルカナルの戦いから80年。あの戦いはソロモン諸島に何を残したのか？ソロモン諸島の人々の視点から語っていただきます。
■日時：2023年10月6日（金）13時から17時ごろまで
■場所：東京国会議事堂周辺会議室。（セキュリティの関係上参加申し込みを受け付けた方に正確な場所をお伝えします。人数に制限があります。）

In 2017, when I was given the opportunity to make the connection of maritime security and Pacific island countries to Prime Minister Abe's Indo-Pacific Strategy and Security Diamond Initiative, I established the Indo-Pacific Study Group with like-minded members, which has been collecting and disseminating information mainly on the security of Pacific island countries.
We are pleased to welcome His Excellency Daniel Suidani, former Premier of Malaita Province, Solomon Islands, and his policy advisor, Celsus Tarifil, to Japan.
In September 2019, Solomon Islands abruptly changed its diplomatic relations from Taiwan to China, with which it had maintained relations since independence. This has been opposed by the Suidani of Malaita, home to a quarter of the country's population.
Eighty years have passed since the Battle of Guadalcanal. What did that battle leave behind in the Solomon Islands? They will speak from the perspective of the people of Solomon Islands.
■Date: Friday, 6 October 2023, from 13:00 to around 17:00.
■Place: conference room in the vicinity of the Tokyo Parliament Building. (The exact location will be given to those who have accepted the registration for participation due to security reasons. There is a limit to the number of participants.)
■Participation fee: 3,000 yen per bite (to cover travel expenses, which will cost about 1 million yen).
