Daniel Suidani閣下と政策アドバイザーのCelsus Talifilu氏は、2023年10月1日、予定の23：59より若干速く東京羽田に到着した。
二人の来日の話は2023年3月頃。すなわちSuidani閣下がマライタ州の知事の座を追われて、命の危険を感じ国を出た後すぐに私のところに打診があった。
なぜ私のところに？ 不思議な事にソロモン諸島の詳細をフォローし、現地のSuidani氏とコンタクトを持っている人は日本には一人もいないのである。
私は数少ない太平洋島嶼国の専門家であり、博士論文はバヌアツを対象としたのでメラネシアにも詳しい。
来日までの７ヶ月間。来る来ない、が続き私は既に疲れ果てていた。ビザの件が一番苦労した。しかし、その間徹底的にソロモン諸島と日本の関係など調べることができた。
2023年10月の16日間。Daniel Suidani閣下と政策アドバイザーのCelsus Talifilu氏が来日した事は日本とソロモン諸島の歴史に残る事業だったのだ。

Hon Daniel Suidani and his policy adviser Mr Celsus Talifilu arrived at Tokyo Haneda on the 1st of October 2023, slightly earlier than the scheduled time of 23:59.
I was approached about their visit to Japan around March 2023, shortly after Hon. Suidani was forced out of his position as Governor of Malaita and left the country in fear for his life.
Why did it come to me? Strangely enough, there is no one in Japan who follows the details of the Solomon Islands and has contact with Mr Suidani there.
I am the only Pacific Islander specialist in Japan and my PhD thesis was on Vanuatu, so I am also familiar with Melanesia.
It was seven months before they came to Japan. I was already exhausted. The visa was the most difficult thing. However, during that time I was able to thoroughly research the relationship between the Solomon Islands and Japan.
The visit of Hon Daniel Suidani and his policy adviser Mr Celsus Talifilu to Japan for 16 days in October 2023 was a historic event in the history of Japan and Solomon Islands.
